You won’t get the same level of exposure to the media industry entering via any other pathway. The obvious up side is meeting some great people; but they're people at the same level as you, and from day one we’ve been swapping stories of how work is and the differences in the agencies. Media is all about contacts, and every workshop provided the opportunity to meet new contacts.

The greatest benefit to being a part of the MFA Trainee Program was knowing where I sit as a co-ordinator in the bigger picture. The MFA provided me the opportunity to meet media owners, research centres and industry leaders and begin to understand how they operate compared to agencies. Being part of the MFA helped me find my feet within media and helped provide future career insight which I may not have had otherwise. The monthly homework tasks only reinforced my knowledge and my experience and helped me to progress. I would highly recommend applying for the MFA to begin a career in media.

The program allowed me to take up an entry level position with a group of friends who are faced with the same challenges. However most importantly it gave me an amazing grounding across a range of mediums and different perspectives of the Australian media industry to get a much clearer and rounded view of how the industry really works.

The MFA Trainee Program provided extensive exposure to the industry by going on media tours regularly. it would have taken a lot longer to tour all the media owners had I not been a part of the program.

Being part of the MFA provides learning opportunities otherwise not available at such an early stage in a media strategy and buying career, going on the tours allows us to understand the environment from the media owners and client perspective. It shows how processes happen and why they are integral to the media process- not to mention it's always a fun afternoon out of the office.

The best part of the MFA traineeship is the hands on experience you receive. It is a great opportunity to not only learn about different facets of the media industry first hand, but to meet people who are experts in their fields. I wouldn’t have had the chance to be exposed to this level of experience and training if I wasn’t part of the program.

The MFA Trainee Program has been a great introduction to the media industry. The workshops and training provided compliment what we do day-to-day, as well as expose us to mediums our clients may not use. By placing us with leading media agencies, the MFA Trainee Program has enabled us to make a number of industry contacts, including our fellow trainees, and puts us in a great position to build our careers.

The best part of the MFA Trainee Program was the opportunity to learn about all aspects of the media while getting practical experience. As trainees, we were able to work in a supportive environment with great chances to develop our skills as well as meeting other people in the industry.

The greatest benefit to being part of the MFA Trainee Program is building industry networks, kick-starting your career while still studying, working at a job that is relative to your degree, ""work"" trips to Sydney, extra credit to add to your resume, a full-time paid job, new friends and experiences, meetings/functions and free stuff!!!!!

One of the greatest benefits of the MFA program was the incredible support network that was available to me. Beginning in a new workplace is always a daunting experience, however I was lucky enough to be provided with friendly managers, supervisors, MFA consultants and other graduates completing the same course, who were always willing to help me out. I am grateful for the many lessons and skills I have developed throughout the last six months and now feel confident to begin my career in Media!
